Odyssey 

More than fifty years ago, in July 1969, human beings embarked on an epic journey to land on the moon. Odyssey, loosely based on the erasure poem of the same title by Ken Hunt, draws inspiration from the chronicle of the first six days of the Apollo 11 voice transcript. The erasure poem of star charts carved from the technical jargon and offhand remarks found in the transmission dialogue is the fertile ground for all the movement and visual elements you see here. The result is both a progressive investigation and a commemorative homage to a major historic event; transporting us from New Orleans to the eerie territory of outer space, a realm populated by the disembodied voices of ghosts, gods, and lost explorers.                                                                                                                               - Leslie Scott NDC Artist Director
